Five years. That's how long Blithe has been around as of March 11, 2026 — and honestly, it still feels surreal to write that out. What started as a small whitelisted server during the strange, isolated days of COVID has grown into a community of over 800 members, ten seasons deep, with more memories than any of us can keep track of.
This isn't a typical anniversary post. We're not going to recap every season or list every event we've ever held — that would take a small book. Instead, we want to do what feels more honest: hand the mic to the people who've actually built this place, and celebrate together.

Season One Ending Celebration
A Message from PoeticRainbow
"Blithe turns 5 years old today. I have been playing on this server since the tail end of Season 4... and it has been a wild ride ever since. I have always been involved in Minecraft servers since I was very young, and no server in those 15 years has ever been through as much as Blithe has. The fact that Blithe is still standing to this day is a testament to the strength of you all, the staff, and the passion we share for Minecraft.Blithe is way more than just the game we all gather to play — I have so many fond memories of moments and events we experienced together. I hope to make even more memories with you all.
I am very lucky to have been able to contribute back to the server through being a staff member and creating custom plugins to empower the Blithe community with more creative freedom. I will continue to attempt to encourage you all to find new ways to express yourselves through Minecraft. And... hopefully we get a good update soon."

"Wooo Blithe turns five!! I've been here since mid/late Season 1 (yes I've spent 5 years here, I feel old). It was sometime during/after COVID, where online spaces and multiplayer games were at an all-time high. It's the first SMP server I've been on, and I'm glad that's the case.
I've met so many amazing people through this server, and I couldn't have asked for better friends. One I've met in real life! And hopefully I'll get to visit many more people soon. I remember my first month playing on Blithe, making a shop that sells almost everything, and continuing the tradition each season."
Five Years Means Something
It's worth pausing for a second on what five years actually means in the world of Minecraft servers.
Most servers don't make it. The vast majority of whitelisted SMPs launch with grand plans, run a season or two, and then fade away as the founders get busy or burn out. Even servers that gain real traction often peak after a year or two and slowly empty out.
Blithe is different. We're on Season 10. We've outlasted countless other servers that started around the same time. We've weathered staff changes, plugin issues, the natural ebb and flow of any online community, and somehow we keep going strong — not because of any one person, but because every single one of you keeps showing up.
That's not nothing. That's actually pretty rare.
What's Happening Today
If you're reading this on the day, here's what's going down for the celebration:
Hop on the server and join the community in the Events District
Parkour with friends in the birthday course
Slap each other with knockback snowballs (yes, that's an official birthday activity now)
Eat some cake — conveniently located in the giant cake structure next to Demise
Find the collectible birthday hat rumored to be hidden somewhere in the Cake Club. Shhh.
Today is for all of us. Hop in, hang out, build something, mess around with your friends. That's what Blithe has always been about.
Thank You
To everyone who's ever logged in, applied for whitelist, built a shop, attended an event, helped a new player, joined the Discord, posted in chat, or just lurked quietly while we all built our little world together — thank you.
You're the reason Blithe made it to five years.
Here's to five more.
